Once your cowl is ready to be blocked you'll need three tools: Knitter's Pride Lace Blocking Mats, Steel Wires, and our new Knit Blockers.
Secure the wires into place with two of the smaller Knit Blocker combs in the corners of the cowl.
Use the larger combs to pin the top and the bottom of the cowl into straight lines.
And voila! Now you just need to wait for your cowl to dry, unpin, and wear!
Enter to win your own set of Knitter's Pride Knit Blockers! To enter to win leave a comment telling us why you need Knit Blockers in your life. We'll choose one lucky winner on Friday, March 27th!
Well, at the moment I use wires which I finally acquired, and simple straight/sewing pins which is far from ideal. These blockers look amazing, almost magical in how easy they would make blocking!
ReplyDeleteI really dislike blocking. I knit a project and either never block it, or it sits for weeks and weeks before I finally force myself to block the piece. For me it's the worst part of knitting. Anything to make it easier would be so helpful. I would love to give these a try. Savannagal on Rav.
ReplyDeleteI am finishing up teacher gifts for the end of the year right now. I finally acquired my own set of blocking mats and these would be a lovely companion as I am going to have a lot of blocking on my hands. :-)

ReplyDeleteBlockers will take the "irregularity" out of using individual pins and get me back to my next project faster!
ReplyDeleteI use wires with Tpins on a number of items but tend to get little areas particularly around corners that poke out. The t pins work well for shawls etc. but I can see a number of projects that would be so much easier to block with these blockers.

ReplyDeleteI used to block very rarely. Since I have acquired some blocking pads, I block more often when needed. Blocking is always a chore I rather not do. Anything that makes the experience easier is greatly appreciated. With wires and your blocking pins, blocking will be almost fun. I have several shawls and all the pieces to a Brioche cardigan that are waiting for these tools.

ReplyDeleteI tried to leave a comment earlier and it got lost when I tried to assign a profile in order to post it but I will try again because I would really like to win this item. I am single mom who knits and crochet in beginning for therapy but now for a source of income and to give back as well. It a my attempt as a means to money because I was a victim in a car accident that left me permanently disabled. The other driver was found guilty in a court of law but nothing was awards; not even the on-going medical expenses. The experience has left me in a bad way that was not too good to begin with but I always try to see the glass half full. I make a lot of items for various charities and those in need because helping other gives me great joy and take my mind off my own troubles. It is my way of paying it forward in a sense. So winning the blocking tool will greatly benefit not only myself but the many other who also touches by the classes, donations, and volunteer service of knitting events and other aspect of my craft. Thank you for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteBecause I am very OCD and blocking takes forever because I want to pin EVERY SINGLE INCH! So if I had the blocking pins it would go much quicker and I would then have more time to knit, or blog, or play games, or snack, or go shopping for more Knitter's Pride products! Yeah, that last one, that's the ticket.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win from knitters pride, I love your stuff

I have two projects ready to block and these blocking pins are what I need!
ReplyDeleteThe moment I saw these I knew that I had to have them, having blocked large wraps with dozens of pins (never enough I might add) is soooooo tedious! These look amazing and seeing them gives you a 'duh' moment. As in, "why hasn't someone thought of this before?!" Plus I'm about 24 rows from finishing my Viajante and these would be perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteI need these blockers because it appeals to the part of me that likes everything efficient and orderly. I love how you have so much more control over straightness of edges by using combs instead of pins. Genius! I really need to try these!
ReplyDeleteI would love these blockers because I've just discovered the art of blocking and have found it really does wonders for my knitting projects. I am building up my collection of knitting accessories and these would be a great addition. My latest purchase was a set of Knitters Pride Interchangeable Circular Needles which are fantastic! Thank You!
ReplyDeleteI never blocked anything before (never knew I had to) but now that I started knitting again and found out I need to block I really would appreciate using the right tools. My towel on the floor method is really not great. I have your Dreamz needles and love them, so I know I would really enjoy your blocking tools as well
ReplyDeleteI am a "Senior Knitter" and find blocking is literally a pain in my neck and shoulders. It takes me so long to place all those individual pins I do not look forward to putting the final touches to my work.
ReplyDeleteKnitter's Pride knit blockers would be much more efficient and effective and help me complete my blocking in less time and more comfort.Would love to win some :)
After my stroke I took up knitting to improve my manual dexterity and I'm now hooked. I haven't stopped knitting and still need to add all the accessories. I bought some pins but have no wires or those great blockers. I've found blocking shawls, my first sweater, and a wool afghan a real challenge without them. Here's wishing ...
ReplyDeleteI don't have much experience in blocking and I'm very critical of my finished work…this would definitely help me perfect my skills!
ReplyDeleteNext to the kitchener stitch, I'm kinda terrified of blocking an item, as I'm still a new knitter. Don't get me wrong, I've done my Doctor Who scarf, and knitted a cowl and a couple of hoodies, but blocking seems intimidating. So I'm thinking if I had these rather sweet blocking bars, I'll be blocking like a pro!
ReplyDeleteDon't know much about blocking so would love to learn.
ReplyDeleteI need these blocking tools! I teach classes for my mom's shop (she is 84!), and often block items for my students. These tools would make it so much easier. I could even have a class in how to block!
ReplyDeleteI love knitting lace scarves/ shawls but don't like blocking. These might help!
ReplyDeleteI knit and crochet almost constantly and I believe in blocking everything. I encourage my knit students to black everything they make too. After all the work it takes to make something, our FOs deserve to be treated right!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting close to finishing all the squares for an afghan I'm knitting and I need to block them before I can seam them and knit the border. These look like high quality tools and I'd love to have them :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to learn how to knit lace--then I'd need these blockers!
ReplyDeleteBeing a knew knitter, I have just learned I need to block some of the items I have made. These would be very helpful tools to finish my projects.
ReplyDeleteI'm just learning to block and I should start off with the best tools!
ReplyDeleteWhy do I need them? Because they look so much easier to use than thousand of individual pins. And I bet they give more even tension so better results too.
ReplyDeleteI believe that good quality tools are important for crafting. I love the design of this blocking system. It makes blocking look easy. I would love to own this blocking system.
ReplyDelete(Thought I posted before but it seems to be getting lost!) I want to be better at blocking. These look like they'd make it easier. I'd even share them with my sister! I've been drooling over these for a while now!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a set of those blockers! It would make my cowls that much better. It's difficult to block with pins and get an even distribution of 'pull' around the edges - these look perfect!
ReplyDeleteI knit a lot of shawls and could these blocking pins.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried to block something with two children and a cat? Anything that speeds up the process is appreciated.

ReplyDeleteUsing the individual pins takes forever and I pull to hard so that straight edges are perforated by points at irregular intervals! Those blocking pins would be a welcomed time and straight line saver!
ReplyDeleteI love KP products, especially the dpn's for socks and interchangeable needles for shawls. I do a lot of blocking; these pins would be a great addition to my blocking setup.
ReplyDeleteWow these look fabulous! I just started working with lace weight thread and yarns and I really have no supplies. This would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI need these because they would make spreading the love so much better! As an active philanthropist and avid knitter, I decided to combine what I love - I started a charity knit & crochet club in my highschool eons ago that donated matching scarves, hats and mitts to teen moms and their children, and then started a blanket-square group when I moved to Kingston for univeristy. The little Etsy shop I run, plus things I sell through school help me pay for my schooling and I donation a portion of all proceeds to the Kingston Youth Shelter in Ontario, Canada. During the summer I use crochet & weaving techniques to teach kids how to turn milkbags into sleeping mats and how to finger knit! I also teach knitting workshops at Minotaur in Kingston and focus on mindfullness knitting since it is a university town and many of my attendees are looking for a stress reliever! I LOVE spreading the joy of knitting to anyone that will benefit. I'd like these blockers so I can sell more, donate more, and teach more!

ReplyDeleteThese look amazing! I am still learning blocking techniques and these would be great to have! I use pins and the mats and have a hard time with the pins.
ReplyDeleteI have a bad back. I'm in constant pain. Being bent over a project trying block with T-Pins is a long agonizing process. These would shorten the process making it much less painless AND making it look much more professional
ReplyDeleteI have a tendency to loose my pins; plus, I tend to struggle with keeping in a straight line or even tension when blocking. I think these would be a lifesaver!
ReplyDeleteI *need* these. Despite my best efforts, i rarely get that crisp edge that comes from perfectly placed pins. But with the knit blockers? Well I just might have a chance ... :-)
ReplyDeletewould love these for blocking my cowls I'm knitting for gifts next year.

I have been using T pins to block my pieces, they are difficult at best and downright obnoxious at worst. These blockers would make my life soooo much easier!!
ReplyDeleteThose pins are CLEVER! Whoever thought of that deserves a round of applause. I've only got a couple projects that have needed blocking, but I'm always anxious when I use pins (for knitting or sewing). I'm afraid of misplacing one and it being discovered by the little hands in my house. Or my feet!
ReplyDeleteI'll be putting these on my wishlist!
Who wouldn't like these? Would make blocking so much easier!
ReplyDeleteI have a set of your interchangeable knitting needles and LOVE them, so I know I would appreciate and like your blocking tools.

ReplyDeleteWow!!! Wonderful invention!! I would LOVE to win these!
ReplyDeleteI desperately need to win this- I have (hanging my head in shame here) been blocking my knitting by pinning it to MY CRAFT ROOM WALL with push pins. I put waterproof contact paper on the wall and I pin all my knitting on the wall. It is hideous and embarrassing and if I had this set, I would CHERISH it and use it for every project.
ReplyDeleteI need these to block the beautiful I'll be finishing soon.
ReplyDeleteI have a shawl on my needles right now and it will need to be blocked. These would be perfect!!!

This looks like it "will" make blocking so much easier than how I do it now. If I had this, I think I would actually block more of my projects like you are recommended to do. Would love to have and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any blocking tools and these look like they would work so well for scarves and hats.
ReplyDeleteI have never actually blocked anything. This would be a good chance to try.

I am pretty new to knitting and haven't blocked anything. I am in the middle of knitting a shawl and have no idea how I will block it. The Knitting Blockers would relieve some of the anxiety I have about finishing this project.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Oh excellent! I need these blockers because at the moment I have a tote full of scarfs and cowls that need blocking before wearing. Every time I think of how many pins I would need to empty that tote I have a mini panic attack and decide I should forget it for another day!
ReplyDeleteI need these blockers so I can block the huge back log of projects that I have that need to be blocked. It would be lovely to clear those off the to do list!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have always put aside the task of blocking as it takes too much time and space. Now I need to finish blocking the dozen or so scarves and put them on sale. Looks like I missed my chance to win a blocking set. I would like to know where can I buy this in India and how much will it cost?
