Getting to Know Your Needles

You may have noticed a new line of needles at your LYS - Knitter's Pride needles and crochet hooks are soon to be your favorite tools for the crafts you love!  With the help of an international advisory panel of knitters and crocheters, we developed our range of needle styles and types to suit the needs of artisans just like you.

If you're new to the Knitter's Pride family, we're pleased you've found us - allow us to give a brief introduction to our product lines:

Dreamz
This line of wooden needles is color-coded for each size, making it easier to find what you're looking for!  Choose from DPNs, Fixed Circular, Interchangeable, and Single-Pointed.  We also have Interchangeable Circular Needle sets, DPN sets, and Single-Pointed needles sets to ensure you always have what you need to cast on!  You can also click here to read Clara Parkes' Dreamz review on Knitter's Review.

Cubics
These cuboid-shaped needles are easy on your hands and available in a wide range of options:  DPNs, Fixed Circulars, Interchangeables, Single-Pointed, and Interchangeable Circular sets, too! They are truly needles with all the right angles - once you give them a try, you won't want to knit with anything else!

Nova
These needles are lightweight, durable and soon to be your new favorite metal needles. Choose from DPNs, Fixed Circular, Interchangeable, and Single-Pointed.  You can also build your needle library with our Interchangeable Circular Sets, DPN sets, and Single-Pointed sets!

Basix
Everyone needs a few good Basix!  Available in DPNs, Fixed Circulars and Single-Pointed needles, they're a great option for the beginning knitter.  These lightweight birch needles are polished for superior glide - they work effortlessly with every type of yarn without slowing down your rhythm!

Crochet
We've developed both Single-Ended and Tunisian crochet hooks in a variety of materials.  Choose from our color-coded Dreamz or the lightweight and ergonomically-designed Aluminum with a soft-feel handle.  If you prefer single-ended crochet hooks, choose from our Dreamz and Aluminum lines as well as our durable Steel hooks which feature an ergonomic handle for maximum crafting comfort, or the polished wood Basix, which glide effortlessly with every type of material.

  5. I was excited to learn about the Cubics, particularly the Special Interchangeable Set because 1) I've been experiencing a lot of finger/wrist pain and read the square needles might help and 2) I knit mostly on 16" circs so an interchangeable set would be win-win! Thank you for the generous giveaway.

  31. I have been looking at interchangeable needles for quite a while before I saw Knitter's Pride interchangeables. I started buying tips, cables, and even a couple sets of DPNs. I have yet to try the Cubics line, and that's what I'm going to buy to text next; the Cubics interchangeable tips and some of the smallest DPNs as well. I'm absolutely enthralled with Knitter's Pride needles, and eventually, I also want to try some Nova needles.

  36. I've been using my Dreamz Tunisian set for a while, and the features I enjoy are the colors, the slick surface, the points, and the tight, smooth joins between the hooks and the cables. I'd love to complete the set by acquiring the sizes that weren't included.

  38. I'm using size 7 circulars for lace project, very smooth join (no catching on the fine Superior FDC yarn), great non kink cords and very reasonable price.

  39. I LOVE nice wooden needles and would love to try something in the Dreamz line. I've also never tried rectangular needles so Cubics would be great too.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm especially interested in the Dreamz line - I'm not sure if I'd rather try the DPNs (which come in sock sizes) or interchageables (for shawls) first.

  53. I am a beginning knitter and have been researching sets so that I'll have the right needle for the project. After all my research, Knitter's Pride Dreamz and Cubics are at the top of my list! I don't like the hardness of metal needles for sure. I cannot wait to try these needles and fall in love with knitting!

  73. The Dreamz Needles please! I would love to start my own stash of knitting needles! I can never find the right size for circular needles, the Dreamz needles are perfect and so pretty! ♡

  74. I've been using KP Cubics DPNs for sock knitting and like The way the square shape provides an ergonomic grip that is comfortable and controlled. I do wish the needles had uniform points on each of the needles. In the set of US1 needles I bought, three of the five needles have blunt tips on one end and pointy tips on the other.

The Nova line looks like it has long, tapered sharp points. I'd like to have a set of the single points.

  75. I am anxiously waiting for my dreamz 16" circular set to arrive!!!

  76. I am DYING to try Karbonz because I have a severe nickel allergy and all I can use is Aeros because they are coated. I can't use any of the other brands and when I saw the Karbonz I was REALLY excited! I don't like wood and bamboo needles because I'm really hard on them and my son usually ends up sitting on my bag and breaking them.

  78. After doing much research I decided to order the Knitter's pride interchangeable set. I received my set in the mail last week and have already started a cowl on the US 8 needles with the 24" cord. The cords were easy to attach and tighten with the key and so far I have not had any issues with snagging or the needle coming loose. The needle tip is wonderfully pointy and made the first row after the cast on rather easy to knit (I tend to cast on tight). The needle is super smooth and the cord is flexible yet contoured to the shape I needed rather quickly. I actually like this set better than my expensive fixed bamboo circular. Though I haven't tried the other needles yet I will say that they look just as sharp and smooth as the one I am currently using. I plan to continue adding needles and cords to complete this set and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality interchangeable set without paying the ridiculous prices of some other companies.
